Beth Dutton, a character in the Paramount Network series Yellowstone, was born on July 18, 1984. Kelly Reilly, who brings this fierce and fabulous cowgirl to life, shares the same birthday, having been born on July 18, 1977. That’s why we’re celebrating her this week with a special birthday bash!
Our showstopper cake is a true masterpiece. The exterior is adorned with a striking features that capture the essence of her wild and fearless spirit.
The cake topper, featuring a few disco balls and a brown cowboy hat, added a playful yet chic touch, perfectly fitting for a Beth Dutton-inspired bash.

Buttercream Tips & Tricks
- Sift your powdered sugar – This ensures a smoother texture for your buttercream.
- Use oil-based dyes – They blend better for a more vibrant and even color.
Cake Baking Tips & Tricks
- Let your cold items get to room temperature – Your cake will rise more evenly this way.
- Use a scale & measure in grams – This is more accurate than measuring in cups.
Cow Cake Specifics
The cake was a vanilla cake with half the batter dyed brown. Here’s how you can recreate it:
- Dye half your batter brown and leave the other half white.
- Drop your brown batter in the pans in dollops. Then alternate dropping in white and brown dollops to create a cow pattern!
The Gift: A Teaser for the Upcoming Dutton Beach House
As a special surprise, Saltsy presented a beautiful gift intended for Beth Dutton. Included was a unique skeleton key, accompanied by a heartfelt poem that hints at our exciting new project – the Dutton Beach House.

This key symbolizes the upcoming Dutton Beach House series debuting in September, where we’ll take you on a journey to design a virtual beach house inspired by Beth Dutton.
